Charlie Kirk shot on Campus in Utah

Must read

Right-Winged Commentator Charlie Kirk was shot and killed on the campus of Utah Valley University.

Charlie Kirk was a far-right American activist, commentator, media personality and founder of Turning Point USA (TPUSA), a nonprofit organization that promotes conservative values among young people.

Kirk was strongly aligned with right-wing politics, an avid supporter of President Donald Trump, and an outspoken critic of progressive movements.

A significant part of his public persona stemmed from speaking tours and debates on college campuses, which served as both outreach for Turning Point USA and as viral content for his media platforms. The events typically included open Q&A sessions, where students challenge Kirk on issues such as immigration, free speech, abortion, and capitalism.

Former President Joe Biden also called for an end to political violence on social media:

“There is no place in our country for this kind of violence. It must end now…… Jill and I are praying for Charlie Kirk’s family and loved ones.”

Trump ordered all American flags throughout the country to be lowered to half-staff through Sunday evening in honour of Kirk.

A university spokesperson said authorities do not have a suspect in custody.

Kirk’s death has shaken America. Whether loved or hated, many have shared their thoughts on this attack.

In recent years, the United States have witnessed a troubling increase in political violence, raising concerns about the health of democracy, the safety of public discourse, and the stability of civic life.
